In the month since the incident occurred, both the Evanston Police Department and the school district have yet to provide new information or details to the public about their investigations into the ties. Evanston Police previously denied a Freedom of Information Act request filed by the Roundtable for the police report on the ties, citing as a basis for the denial that the records involved young people.

In a Tuesday email to RoundTable, Evanston Police Commander Ryan Glew echoed Horton’s statement that police are nearing completion of their investigation into the incident.

“I predict we’re coming to a conclusion, but I don’t have a time frame,” said Glew. “The district has cooperated.”
