Pokemon Go ‘Alola to Alola’ Event: Featured Pokemon, Special Research & More

Pokemon Go’s Alola Season ends later this month, and the game is saying goodbye with an “Alola to Alola” event. The finale runs until May 31st and features a new Special Research story, special Pokémon spawns, and various other in-game bonuses. Here’s everything you need to know about the event.

‘Alola to Alola’ Event Calendar

The “Alola to Alola” event begins 10:00 am local time on May 25 and run until 20:00 local time on 31 May.

Several Pokémon from the Alola region will appear in the wild and hatch from eggs more often during the “Alola to Alola” event. Additionally, all four island guardians – Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini – will return to five-star raids, giving you one final chance to catch them before the season ends.

Special Research and Collection Challenge

Players who have completed all four parts of this season’s ongoing Special Research by June 1 will unlock a final end-of-season Special Research story. This questline will allow you to choose from four alternate routes, each with different tasks to complete and rewards to earn.

Additionally, there will be a new Collection Challenge during the “Alola to Alola” event. Complete this before the event ends and you’ll earn various rewards, including 15,000 XP, 15 Ultra Balls, and the chance to catch Rockruff.

During the “Alola to Alola” event, all players will earn double Stardust when opening gifts from friends. Also, some new avatar items will be added to Pokemon Go’s style store. You’ll be able to purchase backpacks inspired by the three starter Pokémon of the Alola region: Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio. Backpacks will be available even after the event ends.

Shortly after the “Alola to Alola” event ends, Pokemon Go will host its biggest annual celebration: Pokemon Go party. This year’s event takes place on June 4th and 5th. The game also announced the dates of its next three community days.
