The Evanston Public Library offers a wide variety of book discussion groups for community members. Check out the many offers in detail below.

Group of best-off reading books

Genres read range from graphic novels to science fiction, romance to westerns, memoir to poetry.

Meeting day and time: Last Monday of each month at 6:30 pm / In-person at the Main Library.

History book group

This group discusses works of history in the broadest sense, including biographies, research, popular history, history of science and medicine, travel writing, etc., alternating between works on American history and books on international affairs. Meeting day and time: First Monday of every two months at 6:00 pm / In person at the Main Library.

Mission Impossible Book Group

This reading program meets over the course of a year to discuss an author’s challenging works. The author of Mission Impossible 2021/2022 is Gabriel García Márquez. For more information, contact Heather Ross at hross@cityofevanston.org.
